Hearing Loss Claims
for Longshoreman and Maritime Workers
If you are a longshoreman, or other maritime worker entitled to benefits under the Longshore and Harborworkers Compensation Act (LHWCA), you may have been exposed to workplace noise generated by ships, generators, cranes, forklifts, trucks, jockey trucks, toplifts, or other machinery.
If the noise exposure has created a hearing loss, you may have rights under the LHWCA.
The basic deadlines for LHWCA hearing loss claims are:
- You must give notice of your injury to your last maritime employer within thirty (30) days of your receiving a copy of your audiogram.
- You must file a claim for compensation within one (1) year of your receipt of a copy of the audiogram.
We handle LHWCA hearing loss claims before the U.S. Department of Labor and have been successful in recovering substantial compensation for our clients.
Contact us if you have questions about your rights and remedies for a hearing loss claim under the LHWCA.
